At 5'11", Dorian is a tall boy, lanky boy with a vaguely athletic build. But as his physical activity is limited to occasional game of pick-up quidditch and his every-other-day habit of swimming a few laps around the school lake (or whatever the nearest body of water is), he chalks up his more or less lean appearance to genetics. He has a head of chestnut brown hair that tends to lighten easily in the sunlight. It has quite a bit of curl to it, so he keeps it fairly short to keep it under control. Dorian looks rather like his father, taking after him with his fair coloring, strong jaw and straight nose. But much to her delight, he has his mother's blue-grey eyes.

Dorian likes to think of himself as a fairly amiable fellow. He's not much for confrontation, but won't hesitate to say anything if he feels a situation requires it. (He suspects this has something to do with his father being an Auror.) He's exceedingly loyal to his friends and expects the same from them. When slighted or disappointed by someone, Dorian almost always forgives but never forgets.

Dorian's not much of a physical person at all. His personality is more geared towards the intellectual. He loves getting lost in a good book and his favorite subject is Arithmancy (though if Hogwarts offered it, it would be English.) He's friendly enough to everyone, but especially likes to surround himself with a witty lot, as he likes to exercise his own wicked (and often times sarcastic) sense of humor. Growing up with his strict father, sharing feelings and being overly emotional was a big no-no, so in tense or particularly uncomfortable personal situations, Dorian tends to use that same humor his defense mechanism of choice.

In spite of himself, Dorian has to admit that he is rather hopelessly romantic. At 16, he's dated a few girls here and there, but hasn't managed to secure himself a steady girlfriend just yet. The last girl he dated, at the beginning of his fifth year at Hogwarts, left a rather nasty taste in his mouth when she cheated on him just as he was beginning to feel rather attached to her. Yet Dorian remains ever hopeful that the right girl might come along.

Dorian is the oldest child and only son of Phineas and Gwendolyne Meadows. Since their childhood, Phineas Meadows and Gwendolyne Prince had been arranged to be married by their Pureblooded families. Throughout their years at Hogwarts, Phineas (a Slytherin) and Gwen (a Ravenclaw) hadn't run in the same social circles, but had maintained a cordial acquaintance-level friendship in acknowledgment of their impending marriage to one another. The summer after graduation, they were wed, and to the surprise of everyone (the both of them included), the arranged union turned out to be a wildly successful love match as well. The following spring welcomed the birth of Dorian Albert Meadows. Two years later, the Meadows family welcomed their second child, a girl they named Caparina.
